Hosting is a term used to refer to the physical computer servers which run a website or web-based application and make them visible on the internet.
We go to significant lengths to ensure the speed, reliability and security of our hosting is of the highest possible standard.
You only notice your server when something goes wrong. So we do everything in our power to make sure it doesn't.
Hardware
All our solutions are hosted on state-of-the-art dedicated servers - located in one of the UK's premier datacentres in Northampton. Each server has multiple power, cooling and network systems to ensure there is no single point of failure in the architecture.
In addition the servers are directly connected to the internet MPLS 'back-bone' - providing the highest possible level of speed and response time.
Monitoring
In addition to the datacentre network operations team - who look after the environment around the server (connectivity, power supply, temperature etc), we have a proprietary system to monitor the internal health of the servers. The system constantly checks the available disk space, bandwidth, processor capacity, database health, and load being placed on individual websites - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
The system is designed to pro-actively warn our team should there be a problem looming, allowing us to avoid an issue before it affects the service we provide.
Security
Our servers reside in a physically secure datacentre - protection includes CCTV, 24/7 security guards, electric gates, and biometric scanners.
To prevent unauthorised electronic access we use state-of-the-art Cisco Firewall technology and ensure the latest security patches are always applied to every aspect of our hosting architecture. Perhaps most importantly access is restricted to members of the White Cobalt team, no 3rd party individual or company has access - and to top it off, all the data is encrypted too.
